Hasil riset kesehatan dasar menunjukkan prevalensi <em>stunting</em> di Indonesia sebesar 36,8 persen pada tahun 2007 dan 35,5 persen pada tahun  2010. <em>Review</em> ini mencakup studi dengan metode <em>randomized controlled trial (RCT) </em>untuk menilai dampak intervensi pada ibu hamil terhadap pertumbuhan panjang badan lahir sampai anak di bawah tiga tahun (batita) untuk mencegah terjadinya <em>stunting</em>. Pencarian elektronik melalui <em>data base</em> <em>cohrane</em>, <em>medline</em>, <em>pubmed</em> dan <em>google</em> <em>search </em>dan bibliografi dari artikel yang ditelusur. Pencarian dengan memasukkan kata <em>pregnant</em>, <em>intervention</em>, dan <em>randomized</em> (RCT). Ada 12 artikel yang memenuhi  kriteria dari 500 artikel yang ditemukan. Artikel tersebut terdiri dari 4 jenis intervensi yaitu 2 intervensi zat gizi tunggal, 2 intervensi kombinasi zat gizi, 7 intervensi multi mikronutrien dan 1 intervensi edukasi gizi. Metode penilaian kualitas artikel menggunakan<em> jadad score</em> yang meliputi ada tidaknya penjelasan randomisasi, random alokasi, <em>double blind, drop out</em>, besar sampel. Pemberian zat gizi tunggal atau multi mikronutrien pada masa kehamilan tidak menunjukkan perbedaan terhadap pertumbuhan panjang badan bayi sampai usia batita.
